Radical Muslims: Love Osama Bin Laden, Hate America

Before I viewed this segment on CNN I had no clue as to what a Radical Muslim was nor a brother of the “Revolution Muslim” and I definitely didn’t know that they were here living here in the United States and were filled with rage and hate for America and Americans.

As I watched, it shook me to hear Younes Abdullah Mohammed one of the Brothers of the “Revolution Muslim” state that they are

Commanded to terrorize the disbelievers

With disbelievers being anyone who is not a Muslim. Here is a video of Mohammed and Yousef al-Khattab explaining why they hate America informing the CNN correspondent that America will be a target until it changes its nature in the international arena. They go on to express hatred for President Barack Obama and love for Osama Bin Laden. Yousef al-Khattab eagerly expresses how much he loves Bin Laden and shows no remorse for the thousands of innocent Americans killed on 911 under orders from Osama Bin Laden. He states that he saw nothing wrong with the killings.

The Radical Muslims have said that they do not incite violence or preach a message of terrorism, yet they stand outside the 96th Street Mosque in Manhattan where messages of peace and non-violence are being taught and attempt to recruit fellow muslims to “rise up” and do as they are commanded. (Younes Abdullah Mohammed says in the video that they are commanded to terrorize Americans)

A quick google of Revolution Muslim brought me here.

As you can see, just as the Brothers of the ‘Revolution Muslim” are calling on all Muslims to rise up above freedom and democracy this site basically reflects the same thoughts of terrorism and hatred for America.

BGT Sentiments: I remember back when 911 happened so many people were in mourning of their slain loved ones. The United States was grieving. The country had been attacked and now everyone felt vulnerable. Well people like the Radical Muslims were most likely sitting back laughing at the many Americans shedding tears due to 911. They were impressed with the success of the terrorist attacks and were commending Osama Bin Laden for what they saw as a good deed. This makes me wonder why the United States is still so lax on who they allow into the country. The enemy is right under our nose and we call him/her a U.S. citizen. We protect them with constitutional rights, when they hate the very country that protects them. They hate the very idea of living here, so they plot to terrorize and kill us, yet we continue to have an open door policy. This bothers me. It almost makes me want to say they should all go back. If you hate it so much, why come to the USA? Why come to a land that you hate everything about?  We have soldiers, police officers, firemen and countless other public servants that protect and serve these very people who wish them dead. They commend such acts as the Fort Hood killings  and threats against the President of the USA. They are filled with hatred and are fueled to terrorize innocent people when they have the same  freedom and equal rights as the very people they hate…..

Sex Offenders and Halloween

sad pumpkinThere’ll be no Halloween this year…well at least not for many sex offenders in TN.

I was pleased to read in the Commercial Appeal  that the State of  TN has put  some very strict regulations in place for sex offenders concerning the Halloween holiday. The regulations apply to those offenders who are under the supervision of the State Board of Probation and Parole.  These restrictions include the following things that sex offenders are not allowed to do for the Halloween holiday:

–They cannot take any child, including their own, trick-or-treating.

–Neither they, nor anyone in their home, can answer the door to trick-or-treaters, or give out candy or treats.

–Their homes cannot be decorated for Halloween, either inside or outside.

–They cannot host Halloween parties at their homes and cannot wear costumes.

–They cannot go to haunted houses, corn mazes, hay rides or any other seasonal activity.

–They cannot be at any function where children are gathered, including private residences.

For the most part the list seems pretty fair. But, not being allowed to hang Halloween decorations outside OR inside their homes seems pretty far-fetched and ridiculous. The rest of the list is understandable. If you have been convicted of a sex crime, especially one involving a child, you shouldn’t be in any location or situation where you may be tempted again. (but wouldn’t every holiday OR every day possibly include something “tempting”)

I can truly understand the State’s position on setting these restrictions. I understand that the goal of these restrictions is to protect the public, especially the children from sex offenders. But not allowing them to participate in any kind of Halloween activities with their own children doesn’t seem sensible. If so how safe are their children living in the same residences with them? How safe are the neighbor’s children or the children they see at the grocery store or even at church? And if the state is going to set limitations for Halloween, what will be next, harvest festivals and Christmas caroling?  Will they also stop them from going to places such as amusement parks? Kids love to go there too!

Africa in April

Africa in April Cultural Awareness Festival

The 23rd Annual Africa in April Celebration held in Memphis, TN will take place April 16-19, 2009 in Robert R. Church Park in downtown Memphis. This year’s featured country is The Republic of Mauritania.

I will definitely be in attendance. I love going out to the festival each year and viewing and purchasing the beautiful paintings, handmade jewelry, clothing, handbags and a host of other rarities. The smell of the delicate incense fills the air along with the great food being prepared by the country’s natives.  The music is vibrant and flowing through the festival by way of the breezes from the Mississippi River. This is an event for the entire family. It is an opportunity for those young and old to get a glimpse of Africa and its major significance to African Americans.

“If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place.”

Piracy on the High Seas

art_halyburton_navy Maybe I have just been out of the loop and uninformed, but I had no idea that pirates still existed. I can’t really say that before this chain of events I even believed pirates ever really existed. For me; pirates were one of those things that you don’t really believe in but you don’t put in the complete fairytale category. When I saw in the news that Somalian pirates had hijacked a US crew ship and had taken the captain hostage I was shocked. How could this have happened? I had no clue that there were modern day pirates and that ships were still being hijacked at sea.

I was amazed when reading these articles

U.S. Crew Ship: Pirates Holding Captain

They outran the pirates for between three and five hours,” Murphy said. “They were finally overtaken, substantial gunfire involved.”   -from CBS News

Pirates Vow to Kill U.S., French Sailors

“We have decided to kill U.S. and French sailors if they happen to be among our future hostages,” said Abdullahi Ahmed, a member of a pirate group based at Harardhere, a coastal town in central Somalia.”      -from CNN.com

New Wave of Somali Pirate Attacks

US President Barack Obama promised on Monday to “halt the rise of piracy” in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.   -from BBC News

Halt…I didn’t even know it was taking place. I found some very interesting info on this Q&A of Somali Piracy.  It was devastating to hear of Somalia’s extremely poor economy which plays a major part in why some of these young men have become pirates. Racism Today (Post 3)

2008-02-12-onetouchfeb12200811

I am beginning to sway towards the belief that a blatant racist is better than an undercover, throw a rock and hide your hand racist any day…. Either way a racist is a racist, but if you have this belief why hide behind the camouflage of sarcasm and idiotic comments.

Have you noticed that both undercover and blatantly racist people can somehow throw Barack Obama into any conversation?

It is quite annoying to me that you can be holding a simple conversation about something as simple and nonpolitical as the weather, and somehow these people (who immediately put it on the table that they are not racist and do not support racism) will somehow throw in their distaste for Barack Obama.  Weren’t we talking about the weather?

There are far more people in the “Rush Limbaugh Is Our Hero” clique than we think or would like to believe and honestly it is becoming more and more disturbing by the day how so many people refuse to own up to their racism. If you dislike Barack Obama because of his race…umm that probably means that you are a racist. So when you say things constantly about Barack Obama in clearly unrelated conversations your racism shines through like a shiny new penny.

African American supporters of Barack Obama have been labeled as extremist.  It has been said by many non supporters that black people have deemed Barack Obama as the New Jesus. Somewhere along the lines our confidence in Obama and our pledged support have been scandalized and wrongly reflected as closely mimicking idolism. These people believe that the majority of black people who voted for and support Barack Obama see him as our savior. That somehow we think he is going to take all of our worries away  and deliver us from the troubles of this world which includes our car note, our mortgage, unemployment, depression, flu, money problems, bad relationships, long term illnesses, unpaid doctor bills, dwindling savings, alcoholism, drug addiction, headaches etc, you get the picture.

Much of this nonsense stems from racist people who instead of stating their reasons for not supporting Obama they turn their distaste towards those that do support him and this distaste is often reflected in their idiotic statements and behavior.

Here is a video from one of the greatest douchebags alive, Rush Limbaugh. This video is a classic example of a racist giving his political thoughts which are primarily based on his own personal racist opinion and not the facts. But honestly this kind of behavior is expected of Limbaugh.  He is one of the most racist men alive and unlike some racist people there is no hesitancy for him to open his mouth and publicly display his ignorance and high level of loserism.

In the video Limbaugh talks about his suspicions of Barack Obama. Would he have been so suspicious had Barack Obama been a white, qualified candidate running for President? Of course not!

The NY Post defends running racist cartoon by Sean Delonas

400http3a2f2fd_yimg_com2fa2fp2fap2f200902182fcapt_ea1cf7fd72734031a84bdce41da4f654_ny_post_cartoon_nyr101 AP

Civil rights leaders and a multitude of others have come forth speaking out against the cartoon by artist Sean Delonas which was run in the New York Post on February 18, 2009. The cartoon has been called offensive, racist and insensitive.

Mr. Delonas however has stated that these accusations are ridiculous and that the cartoon is about the economic stimulus bill and in no way is indicating that President Barack Obama should be shot. The editor-in-chief of the New York Post, Col Allan had this to say,”The cartoon is a clear parody of a current news event.”

However that explanation is not acceptable to those (myself included) who have taken offense to the cartoon which shows two white police officers standing over a dead chimpanzee that that have just shot and killed. The caption states “They will have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.’

How the New York Post or the cartoon artist can rebut the fact that the cartoon is offensive and has racist undertones is beyond belief.  Even with The New York Post adding that the cartoon also plays wit to the woman attacked by a chimpanzee in Connecticut it still does not satisfy those who are not willing to accept any excuses for the cartoon’s insensitivity or the New York Post bad judgment call. First let’s examine the facts:

  • President Barack Obama wrote the stimulus bill mentioned in the cartoon caption.
  • President Barack Obama is of African descent.
  • Throughout history and to present time, monkeys, chimpanzees and other primates of the ape family have been used to downgrade and dehumanize the African American race.
  • The cartoon shows a dead chimp, killed by two white officers who are stating that someone else will have to write the next stimulus bill.

There is no way to deny that the cartoon is blatantly racist. I won’t even downplay it by saying it has racial undertones, no it is blatantly racist and in my opinion the New York Post needs to make a public apology to everyone who may have been offended by the cartoon’s offensive artistry and caption. It showed bad judgment on part of The New York Post when the cartoon was okayed to be placed as part of the newspaper’s printing.

Reverend Al Sharpton, Marc Morial (National Urban League President), Barbara Ciara (President of the National Association of Black Journalists) and others are speaking out and demanding that the New York Post clarify what point the cartoon actually makes since the post has denied that it has any racial inferences.

Another note: This is not the first time artist Sean Delonas has had his work called offensive or insensitive. He is the same artist who has been ridiculed for his cartoons on gay marriage licenses and the ex-wife of Paul McCartney who has one leg. The Holy Bible – How Much Do You Believe?

holy_bibleFirst let me start by saying that I am a Christian. I am saved and believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and for that I am forever grateful. I take the Holy Bible as God’s holy word.

With that being said, I am putting myself out there by saying that I can honestly understand why many choose not to read or give the Holy Bible much significance.

Now don’t get me wrong, I try to live by the bible as best as I can (many shortfalls sadly) but for those who aren’t committed to the belief of the Gospel then there is undoubtedly much room for scrutiny.

For example many people believe that the events chronicled in the bible are just as sketchy as those described in the theory of evolution. Some take the theory of evolution as solid fact while others do not believe that it is an accurate or complete explanation of how human life began. This too goes for the bible. There are people who swear by the words contained in the Holy Bible while others feel that there may be some truth to the bible, but there is too much room for doubt for them to believe in its entirety.

Some Christians even have trouble coming to terms that every word written in the bible should be taken as truth. They read their bibles, they are taught from the bible in church, yet they still find difficulty in believing and abiding by what the word tells them.

One of the most controversial issues dealing with what the bible actually states is the subject of homosexuality. Many homosexual people (including Homosexual Christians) argue that the bible does not in any certain terms state that same sex relationships or sexual behavior is immoral. They also argue that nowhere in the bible is it written that the scriptures mainly used by true Christians today to note God’s judgment of homosexuality does not relate to homosexuality today, but rather that of the original meaning of homosexuality and therefore does not point out today’s definition and its context.

Of course those who believe otherwise will generally point out this scripture in the 18th chapter of Leviticus

22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

…followed by this scripture in Leviticus the 20th chapter

13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

They will conclude by telling the story of Sodom and Gomorrah

Another small, but often talked about example of what is actually stated in the bible is the art of tattooing and body piercing. Many pastors touch on the topic of tattooing/body piercing somewhere along the way during their ministering. They generally use the following scripture:

Leviticus 19:28 (King James Version)

28Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

For some, that is enough to make them believe that tattooing is forbidden by God because but for others that scripture does not exactly state that you should not get a tattoo. Then there are those that have read this scripture, are Christians yet they have tattoos and see nothing wrong with it because they do not feel that is in any way possible to live your life completely as directed by the bible. Everyone will fall short at some point in time, so yes they believe in the Bible but don’t feel that is a realistic thought that  one can follow the instructions for life given by the bible 100%.

I saw this acronym somewhere and it made me stop and think

Basic

Instructions

Before

Leaving

Earth

If the bible should be the instruction manual of how Christians live their lives, why is it so difficult to believe that even the controversial issues that many see inaccuracy in are true? Could it be that many of those who proclaim to be true Christians are not completely convinced that each word of the book of their God is 100% truth? Or, is it easier to believe the parts that suit you and that you choose to live by while leaving those that are not as convincing behind?

**And for those that may be interested here is what former President George W. Bush who is a Christian said about whether he believes the bible to be true.
